After graduating in 1997 I started working in software and web sites localization. Working in-house I gained extensive experience localizing large ERP suites, business software and consumer applications from UIs, to documentation, online help, web sites and marketing collaterals.
Consumer software
2003-present. In the last 8 years I further specialized in the localization of a wide range of SEM and consumer software applications for a major search engine.
AdWords campaigns and keyword lists
2003-present. Localized several AdWords ads and keyword lists.
2011. Passed Google Advertising Fundamentals Exam (88% passing score)
Building and Construction
Secondary School degree in building surveying and work experience as chartered surveyor, building surveyor and draftsman.
Politics, Current Events and History
May 1997 – June 1998. Translation and proofreading of the monthly news magazine Eventi in Sintesi (Italian edition of the Record of World Events – Keesing Worldwide) published by Zanfi Editori s.r.l, Modena, Italy.
2001 – Translated several articles of UNESCO’s History of Humanity
Sports, sports betting and casino games
2009-present. Translated several documents for a major sports betting and casino games portal.
Travel, food and wine
1997-present. Translated menus for cruise lines, travel guides.
Photography
2003-2007. Translated photoeding application. Photography is also one of my favourite hobbies.
Computer-assisted translation tools
1996-present. Extensive experience using standalone and online CAT tools.
I started using Trados 1.2 in 1996, then bought Trados 2.0 license in 1998 and Trados 7 in 2005. I also own a Deja Vu X license and WordFast license.
Since 2003 I translated more than 2 million words using Logoport/Translation Worspace. I also regularly use Idiom and and other online tools like Google Translator Toolkit and Lingotek.
